On 19 November, the Transport Knowledge Hub hosted an event in Birmingham. Chaired by Gerard Whelan, Director of Corporate Finance, Government and Infrastructure at KMPG, the regional forum heard some of the early findings of new research undertaken by KPMG on the opportunities and barriers for a more integrated approach between housing and transport. Lilian Greenwood MP, the Chair of the Transport Select Committee, gave a keynote speech and praised the KPMG research as a robust contribution to the important question of how sustainable transport can unlock the benefits of new housing. Speakers included Laura Shoaf (Transport for West Midlands), Tom Stables (National Express), Simon Statham (Midlands Connect) and Jack Kelly (Midlands Heart).
